Beijing. February 27. Silkroadnews - The exploding phone charger caused a fire on board of a China Southern Airlines plane, The New Straits Time reported.
A fire broke out in the cabin of a China Southern Airlines plane while it was boarding at Guangzhou airport. The incident caused a three-hour delay. According to the company, it was a portable mobile phone charger stowed in an overhead compartment by a passenger that caused a fire, though was not in use.
“As passengers were boarding flight CZ3539 from Guangzhou to Shanghai Hongqiao airport, smoke and flames began billowing from the overhead locker and the cabin crew evacuated the plane,” the publication reads.
The fire aboard on the airliner Boeing 777-300ER was quickly extinguished, the damage to the cabin is minor. The owner of the charger was taken away, currently the police investigates the case. Other passengers were placed on another flight.
