Explosion near the Chinese Embassy in Bishkek; three employees suffered

Almaty. August 31. Silkroadnews – Explosion occurred near the Chinese embassy in Bishkek, police officials of the Kyrgyz capital told KyrTAG on Tuesday.

«We have received a call saying there was an explosion in the Kyrgyz-1 near the Chinese Embassy. Our officers have left to respond. The nature of explosion is not known so far, it may be a domestic one», the publication says.

Later Kyrgyzstan's Defense Deputy Prime Minister Zhenish Razakov called the explosion a suicide bombing.

«It was a terrorist attack. Three embassy employees, citizens of Kyrgyzstan, got injured. A suicide bomber died with bomb detonating», Z.Razakov said.

The information on the explosion was reported around 10 a.m. on Tuesday. According to preliminary data, an explosive device was inside the car which rammed the gates of the Chinese embassy from the western part.

Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Kyrgyz government to conduct a thorough investigation into the explosion.
