Extremists from Afghanistan might try to infiltrate into the CIS countries – Kyrgyzstan’s General Staff
Almaty. April 28. Silkroadnews – In spring and summer the Afghan militants’ extremist groups may try to infiltrate into the neighboring CIS countries, Chief of General Staff of Kyrgyzstan’s Armed Forces Zhanybek Kaparov said, TASS reports.
“We can assume that since the beginning of spring and summer the situation in the designated region would be unfolding under the following scenario. Combatants will make real attempts to seize Afghanistan’s northern regions. The Afghan national army and police would carry out a sweeping operation to clear the northern regions and this could lead to infiltration of militants into the territories of neighboring states,” said Z. Kaparov at the 5th Moscow International Security Conference.
According to him, the militants from among the Central Asian countries citizens do not give up intentions to create hotspots of instability within their home countries.
