Bishkek. April 22. Silkroadnews - Famous Mongol Sumo wrestlers to participate in the First Bishkek tournament. While in Kyrgyzstan, Mongol guests are to hold Master-Classes for young Kyrgyz Sumo wrestlers.
Sumo wrestling association was founded in Kyrgyzstan in 1995. Kyrgyz team took part in Tokyo tournament for amateur sumo wrestlers the same year. Back then, the team made it to the top 10. In 2000, Kyrgyz team won (1st place) the open tournament in Kazakhstan. 2 Kyrgyz wrestlers also took Silver Medals at the 2004 Asian Championship in Osaka, Japan.
