FIFA President met with Iranian President

Beijing. March 2. Silkroadnews - The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) can play a significant role in bringing nations closer together, Rouhani said at the meeting with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
He drew attention to the productive role of sport, especially football, in people’s lives and emphasized the need for FIFA to promote the rights of nations to watch their favorite teams in their stadiums and country.
Commenting on the interest of Iranian women in various sports, especially football, the Iranian president said “today, Iranian women are present livelier in sport fields, including 23,000 women athletes in football.”
In his turn, the president of FIFA stated that “football has an important social role worldwide, and the Iranian people are truly among the most passionate fans of football in the world.” He also pointed out, FIFA is always looking to improve the world through sports and will not hesitate to help improve the level of football in Iran.
“The people of Iran, like any other nation, have the right to cheer their teams at their stadiums, and we, as the international federation of football, will try to defend this right,” the agency quoted him saying.
