First consultations on EEU and China partnership to be held at G20 fields

Almaty. July 1. Silkroadnews – TASS reports, the first consultations on the results of negotiations on establishment of trade and economic partnership in Eurasia on the basis of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the Chinese project of Silk Road Economic Belt will be held at the upcoming G20 summit.

“These talks have begun during the recent visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China, the first consultations will take place in Shanghai, in the fields of “G20”, between the ministry of economic development of the Russian Federation and the government of China,” said Russia’s first deputy minister of economic development Alexey Likhachev.

Earlier, during the meeting on a day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin said it is the first step in building the large Eurasian partnerships, including participation of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, other CIS countries, China, India, Pakistan and, in the future, Iran.

According to the Russian President, the idea was also supported by the leaders of Southeast Asian Nations at the Russia-ASEAN Summit held in Sochi, and during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum the possibilities of establishing a respectful interaction between the EEU and EU have been discussed with representatives of Europe.
