For five consecutive years China tops the world in number of patents for inventions

Almaty. April 19. Silkroadnews – Over the past five years China ranked first in the world in number of patents for inventions accepted for consideration, mirroring a rapid increase in the country’s innovative capacity, Xinhua news agency writes.

According to information, more than 60% of patents have been issued to enterprises. According to the chairman of China enterprise confederation Wang Zhongyu, at present China achieved a breakthrough in a number of technological fields, including high-speed rails, nuclear power, the fourth generation communications technologies and ultra-high power transmission. Yet, the country experiences a lack of science and technology reserves, its high-end talent is still very scarce, and another important problem whish remains unsolved is a dependence on foreign key technologies.

“Most of the enterprises still remains in the lower segment of the global production chain, we shall abandon the concept of restraining the innovative development and resolve the system constraints urgently,” Wang Zhongyu said, adding that large enterprises should implement an innovative strategy and gradually put forward the upgrading.
The deputy chairman of the National People’s Congress Financial and Economic Affairs committee of the Shao Nin says at the current stage China’s development of the new generation industrial sectors can go in two directions: first, the development of exclusive services, and second, the development of high-quality production.
