Foreign jails contain almost 2 thousand Kazakhs - Prosecutor Office

Astana. August 22. Silkroadnews - In a prison abroad serving a sentence almost 2 thousand citizen of Kazakhstan, reports KazTAG citing the press service of the General Prosecutor Office of Kazakhstan.
"Today, the number of Kazakhstan citizens convicted in foreign countries, is slightly less than 2,000 people. The great number of them are in the CIS countries, but also in foreign countries serving a sentence sufficient number of our countrymen: Germany - 46 people, the Republic of Korea - 22 people, China - 16 people, and so on", - said in a statement on Friday.
It is noted that Kazakh prisons cotain about the same number of convicted foreign nationals.
Noted that since the beginning of 2014, 30 convicted foreigners were transferred to their countries of origin, 17 convicted Kazakhs returned home.
