Former Kyrgyz President Bakiyev and his brother are sentenced to life imprisonment

Almaty. July 25. Silkroadnews - Former President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev and his brother Janish Bakiyev are sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of property, said KyrTAG.
According to the verdict, handed down on Friday, in relation to events that occurred on April 7, 2010, ex-president Kurmanbek Bakiyev was sentenced to life imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold public office up to 3 years with confiscation of property and imprisonment in a maximum security prison. Goverment will confiscate his house in Teyit Suzak district of Jalal-Abad region.
His brother Janish Bakiyev is sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation, deprivation of the right to hold office up to 3 years imprisonment in a maximum security prison and stripped of his military rank.
Son of ex-President Marat Bakiyev is sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in a penal colony with a reinforced regime. Goverment will confiscate his BMW car and more than $1.9 million, which have been stored in the bank.
Former Prime Minister Usenov is sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold office up to 3 years imprisonment in a maximum security prison. Goverment will confiscate his car Cadillac, apartment in Bishkek, the house in the capital and funds amounting to more than 36 thousand soms.
Recall that military court of Bishkek garrison holds a criminal case on the April events of 2010, when in front of the government building were killed 87 people and injured more than 300. Totaly in case were accused 28 people, of whom 9 are wanted, including former President Bakiev, his family and associates.
