France has not yet announced possible exit from South Pars gas field
Beijing. May 14. Silkroadnews - Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said France’s oil company ‘Total’ has not yet announced its possible exit from development of Phase 11 of the South Pars gas field after announcement on the US withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
“It is expected that disagreement between the two countries of Iran and Turkmenistan will be settled through negotiation,” Mehr news agency quoted him saying on Iran’s complaint against Turkmenistan on the gas exports cut.
Following the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashit Meredov, he noted that “positive and constructive talks were held on oil and gas cooperation between the two countries.”
Turkmenistan has been allowed to deliver its gas to Azerbaijan via Iran from the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year in 1397 (beginning March 20, 2018), the oil minister said.
Following the US leaving Iran’s nuclear deal, the European Union, along with other signatories of the deal - Russia, China, France, Germany and the United Kingdom - initiated a new round of negotiations to preserve this international deal.
