Freight Operators Association of Kyrgyzstan accuses China of violating the terms of transport agreement
Almaty. February 5. Silkroadnews - Freight Operators Association of Kyrgyzstan accuses China of violating the conditions of the transport agreement, reports KyrTAG.
"At the time of Askar Akayev was signed an unequal treaty. According to the Treaty Chinese trucks were allowed to go to Bishkek, but they in fact go until Kara-Balta. In particular, they imported equipment for the refinery instead of our cars. Even here they violate the agreement",- said the chairman of the Association Temirbek Shabdanaliev.
According to him, the Kyrgyz truckers can not drive more than 100 kilometers into the Chinese territory, only some can travel to Kashgar, this affects their work.
China also refuses to sign an international convention on TIR carnet (customs transit document entitling transport goods across borders in sealed customs body of the car or containers with simplification of customs procedures).
"Our association has repeatedly raised the issue of free movement. However, China has remained silent, they protect their national interests. This is the weakness of our government",- he concluded.
