French Total to build three petrochemical plants in Iran

Almaty. July 5. Silkroadnews – The French oil giant has reached an agreement with Iran on construction of three petrochemical plants, the South African information portal Business Day reported.
“Total and Iran reached a preliminary agreement on construction of three petrochemical plants. In case the agreement is signed, France with $2 billion investments will become the biggest investor in the oil and gas industry of Iran”, the report said.
The capacity of the plants, as noted, can reach 2.2 million tonnes of petrochemical and polymer products per year.
At present Total and the Iranian National Petrochemical Company are reported to work over the project’s comprehensive study to clarify all available data.
