Germany’s Federal Ministry of Interior to restrict issuance of visas to citizens of states that do not take migrants back

Almaty. October 30. Silkroadnews – Suggestion by the German government is to restrict issuing visas to nationals of the states that do not want to take in refugees coming back from European countries at the level of the European Union (EU), the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports with reference to TASS.
The measures should be aimed at those who in these countries are responsible for the return of migrants, that is, holders of official and diplomatic passports. The mechanism will start working in case the EU states act together, the agency quoted Federal Minister of the Interior Thomas de Maiziere on Sunday.
The minister also noted that there is agreement on the issue between the European Ministers of the Interior.
He noted, if, despite the commitments made, there are continuous problems with deportation, it would be right, in turn, to toughen requirements for entry into the EU for such states’ citizens.
According to Welt am Sonntag, the Federal Ministry of Interior and its subordinate departments have tacit lists of such problem states, among them Egypt, Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, Mali, Pakistan, as well as Turkey, Iraq and Senegal.
Since the beginning of the migration crisis in 2015, Germany has taken in more than 1.3 million migrants. Having arranged the migrants’ deployment issue, the authorities faced another problem – expelling of those who had been denied a refugee status. Since the beginning of last year, around 100 thousand people returned from Germany to their homeland. Currently, there are more than 230,000 migrants residing in the Federal Republic of Germany, whom the authorities refused to grant asylum; the number of such immigrants is constantly growing.
