“Because of the global economic crisis, many countries run into problem of growing unemployment. As a result, more and more countries have started to reduce the quota for the employment of workers from China, which has not happened for many years,” - the publication said on Friday.
It is noted the number of Chinese workers in Africa declined from ten thousand people in 2011-2014 to one thousand people, having reached the lowest level since 2008.
According to the publication, Angola has tightened its regulations on working visas, Venezuela introduced a requirement on 9:1 ratio between the local and the Chinese employees. Japan and Singapore also began to hire fewer workers from China, giving preference to workers from Laos and Vietnam.
It is reported that Chinese workers abroad were mainly engaged in the field of road and railway construction, and at home they used to be the major buyers of the real estate.
