Gold extraction at the Kyrgyz Jerooy gold deposit to begin in 2018

Almaty. July 7. Silkroadnews – KyrTAG reports, LLC “Alliance Altyn” (a part of GC “Russian platinum”) plans to start gold production at Jerooy deposit in Kyrgyzstan in 2018.

87 tonnes of the precious metal are expected to be produced until 2043.

In 2018-2031 the subsoil user plans to produce 1.3 million tonnes of ore per year by the open pit, with prognostic gold production to amount to 58.2 tonnes. The underground mining operations are planned for 2031-2043 with production of 700 thousand tonnes of ore per year, production is expected to reach 28.7 tonnes of gold.

In May 2015 JSC “East-geoldobycha” (a part of GC “Russian platinum”) won an auction to develop Jerooy field. The start-up amount made $100 million. The company has established LLC “Alliance Altyn”, which received a license to develop Jerooy field till August 28, 2035, and also a license to explore Jerooy area till August 28, 2020.

Jerooy deposit is one of the largest in Kyrgyzstan. Currently it recorded reserves of categories: on-balance C1 – 75.141 tonnes, C2 – 5.774 tonnes, off-balance – 16.161 tonnes of gold.
