Grandson of Uzbekistan’s first president asked for political asylum in UK

Beijing. January 30. Silkroadnews - Islam Karimov, 25, the grandson of the first president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and son of Gulnara Karimova, asked for political asylum in Britain, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reported with reference to Radio Azattyk.
Reportedly, Karimov Jr. appealed to the government of the Great Britain a month ago.
Islam Karimov will ask for asylum as soon as the due legal procedures and documents are completed, he told western journalists, having mentioned a major event related to his mother and kept under the strictest confidence.
To remind, the eldest grandson of the first president of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has been living in the UK since his mother Gulnara Karimova had been persecuted in her homeland. At present, Gulnara Karimova is under arrest.
