«Great Silk Road» tourist route to be opened in the North Caucasus

Almaty. September 26. Silkroadnews – The new tourist route «Great Silk Road» will be opened in the North Caucasus, TASS reports.

As the Russian Ministry of North Caucasus Affairs reports, «The new tourist route «Great Silk Road», allowing tourists to learn the geographical, cultural and culinary diversity of the Russian Caucasus in just seven days, will start in Dagestan».

The Ministry reports there is a number of agreements to be signed as a results of the negotiations held between the North Caucasus authorities and Chinese tour operators.

The tour program includes the most ancient Russian city of Derbent with the Naryn-Kala citadel at the Caspian Sea, «Heart of Chechnya» mosque in Grozny, ancient monasteries in North Ossetia, as well as the medieval tower cities of Ingushetia, ascending Elbrus by a cable car, mineral springs in the resort city of Kavminvody and Honey waterfalls in Karachay-Cherkessia.

To remind, last year the North Caucasus launched the railway route «Tea Express» through the six republics. The railway route and bus tour represent a reverse trip in the Caucasian part of the Great Silk Road.
