Head of Afghan intelligence accused Russia and Iran of supporting Taliban

Beijing. February 7. Silkroadnews - Chief of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) of Afghanistan Masoom Stanikzai said Russia and Iran support the Taliban movement, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
According to him, Moscow and Tehran maintain contacts with the Taliban under the pretext the Taliban is fighting against the Daesh terrorist group.
To remind, last month, Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov stressed, Moscow supports ties with the Taliban solely to safeguard Russian nationals in Afghanistan and in the hope to contribute to the peace process in the country.
Iran's leadership also denied reports of support for the Taliban.
In his interview with BBC, the NDS chief said there are evidences that Taliban takes part in transfer of militants to Afghanistan from other countries.
