Heads of the ECO states’ railway administrations discussed the possibilities of the corridor at the meeting in Tehran

Almaty. February 8. Silkroadnews – At the meeting in Tehran the heads of railway administrations of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) discussed the corridor potential possibilities, press service of the Kazakhstani railway network operator reported.

“The projects on construction of terminal facilities are implemented currently on the territory of Iran at the Bandar Abbas port and Inceburun station in cooperation with the Iranian partners”, vice-president on development of JSC “NC “KTZ”” Arman Sultanov said.

The initiative to establish a steering committee to develop Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor will contribute to use all the capabilities of the new transcontinental route “North-South”, along with the transit potential of Central Asia and Middle East.

He also highlighted the importance of a new railway line connecting Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran for development of transport and transit potential of the states of Central Asia and the Middle East.
