HIV-infected individuals just got more employment opportunities in Uzbekistan

Tashkent. May 15. Silkroadnews – HIV-infected individuals just got more employment opportunities as the Minister of Healthcare issued a new decree. The decree can be accessed via norma.uz
“Registry of Professional Occupations that HIV-infected individuals are prohibited from” used to prohibit HIV-infected individuals from performing the procedures related to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease, first medical aid, public-facing services, vaccine and drug production, misuse services, contact sports. Therefore, HIV-infected individuals can now have all of those previously prohibited occupations.
However, there are 9 types of occupations that still remain in the registry. Those are occupations related to processing of blood and its components, blood and its components, jobs related to the donation of blood and its components, donation of breast milk and sperm, transfusion, medical procedures, cosmetic and plastic surgery, dental procedures, abortions, births and other gynaecology related operations, haircut and barber services, piercing, manicure, pedicure and tattoo services.
