Hundreds of thousands were evacuated in China because of flooding

Almaty. July 4. Silkroadnews – Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated in China due to the flood caused by steady rains, Xinhua news agency reported.
“According to the provincial civil affairs department, floods caused by heavy rains have killed 16 people and left ten missing and 92 thousand evacuated in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Ministry of Finance reports on 1.88 billion yuan ($276.8 million) allocated for 20 provinces and regions to deal with the flood consequences”, the publication said.
The flood destroyed 600 and seriously damaged 6.5 thousand houses.
The weather conditions also caused delay of 40 departures in the airports, eight thousand passengers could not leave on time.
300 thousand people were evacuated in Hunan Province, where floods and landslides destroyed around six thousand houses.
Tens of thousands of high school students, students and civil servants are involved to fight against the flood consequences.  
Heavy torrential rains caused landslides making several large rivers, including the Yangtze major tributary Xiangjiang, have flooded the banks.
