Hydro-electric power station on the river Pyandj will allow Tajikistan to increase energy exports to Afghanistan

Almaty. May 11. Silkroadnews – Construction of Yazgulomskaya HPP will allow Tajikistan to increase the export of electricity to Afghanistan, Tajik telegraph agency (TajikTA) reported on Wednesday.

“Tajikistan can raise the export of electricity to northern Afghanistan after realization of project on building Yazgulomskaya hydroelectric power station on the river Pyandj. Its implementation will require about $680 million, that is the relative capital investment makes $800 per 1 MW,” the statement specifies.

The preliminary draft on Yazgulomskaya HPP designed was said as included in the investment portfolio.

According to the project, the capacity of the future hydroelectric station is to make 850 MW.
