IMF is ready to turn the yuan into a basket of reserve currencies

Almaty. October 26. Silkroadnews - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is ready to enable the Chinese yuan in the basket of reserve currencies on the basis of which the Fund forms its own unit of account - the so-called special drawing rights, Tass reported.
The report of the experts of the IMF, which provides guidance to the Board of Directors of the organization, gives a positive opinion on the inclusion of the yuan in the basket.
However, the US side, which has a blocking stake in the IMF, is skeptical about this initiative. In the case of support for the report by the Board of Directors, the meeting of which will be held in November, the yuan will be able to get to the basket only a year later - in October 2016.
Organization in August extended the current basket to nine months - from December 31, 2015 to September 30, 2016. IMF revises the weight of currencies in the basket every five years.
Previously, the organization stressed that the international recognition of the yuan must meet certain criteria for the market, and to achieve this, China must also fulfill a number of preconditions.
