"Since 2003, the Afghan National Army has lost at least 6,583 soldiers", - says the publication, citing the Ministry of Defence of the IRA on Tuesday.
According to the Defense Ministry, the number of military casualties increased sharply after, the NATO-led international coalition forces handed over responsibility to the Afghan security forces. So, if in 2010 were killed 748 military, in 2014 - 1400 and since the beginning of this year already 950.
Improvised explosive devices (IED), the main factor called for the death of Afghan soldiers. Taliban fighters and other insurgent groups often use them as a weapon to kill Afghan security forces and soldiers of the Western alliance.
According to the security service, a daily average of 4 soldiers killed, and mostly because of the explosions at the IED.
