Almaty. August 28. Silkroadnews - In China, 45 people were convicted for trying to cross the border illegally with the purpose of joining the jihad, reported the newspaper China Daily.
"45 people have been convicted by a court for periods ranging from 4 to 15 years in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region for trying to cross the border illegally with the aim to join the jihad, or for the provision of assistance to those who intend to do so. Two men were sentenced to life imprisonment for smuggling 305 people to Vietnam", - said in a statement on Friday.
It is noted that the defendants were charged with organizing, directing and participating in terrorist groups, their financing and organizing of illegal border crossings.
