In China RES power units generate more than 20% of the total electricity volume

Almaty. August 24. Silkroadnews – The National Energy Administration of China published a report on assessment and monitoring of electricity produced using renewable energy sources in China in 2015, Chinese media reported.

By the end of 2015 the capacity of power units based on renewable energy sources amounted to 480 million kW with more than 20% share in the total volume of electricity produced, the report said.

In particular, the hydroelectric power stations with 300 million kW produce 1.098 trillion kW/h, i.e. 19.6% of the total volume of electricity produced in the country; wind power capacity is 129 million kW, these sources generate 186.3 billion kW/h or 3.3% of the total electricity volume; solar generator stations of 43.18 million kW power produced 39.2 billion kW/h or 0.7%; capacity of Chinese power plants using biomass energy makes 10.31 million kW, producing 52.7 billion kW/h, which is 0.9% of the total electricity volume produced in China.
