In January-February Afghanistan increased Kazakhstani flour import 1.8 times

Silkroadnews - In January-February 2016 Kazakhstan exported to Afghanistan 178.7 thousand tons of wheat or rye flour for a total amount of $40.4 million, which shows 1.8 times growth in volume and 15% increase in value compared to the same period of 2015, KazTAG reports referring to the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to data published on the SRC website, not including Russia and Belarus, in January- February 2016 Kazakhstan exported 324.4 thousand tons of flour for the total amount of $67.2 million, which is 34.3% higher in terms of volume, though 10.5% lower in term of value as compared to the same period of 2015.
Besides Afghanistan, the largest consumers of Kazakhstani flour became: Uzbekistan - 120.7 thousand tons (+7.8%) for $20.8 million (-30.6%), Tajikistan - 17.1 thousand (-10%) for $3.6 million (-46.1%), Turkmenistan - 740 tons (not imported within the same period of 2015) for $400 thousand.
In 2015 the largest consumers of Kazakhstani flour were: Uzbekistan - 818.1 thousand tons (-8.9%) for $193.7 million (-16.4%), Afghanistan - 778.7 thousand tons (+22.6%) for $230.7 million (+4.1%), Tajikistan - 137 thousand (-24.4%) for $31.6 million (-28.9%), Kyrgyzstan - 14.6 thousand tons (-71.6%) for $4 million (-71.3%), Turkmenistan - 32.5 thousand tons (-40.4%) for $12.6 million (-46.5%).
