In Kyrgyzstan, the introduction of new electricity tariffs will be moved to a later date
Almaty. June 1. Silkroadnews - Introduction of new electricity tariffs will be postponed to a later date, reports KyrTAG.
"Based on the above, we inform that by the instructions of Prime Minister T.Sariev, state agency will make additional calculations, that will allow a more gradual increase of people-oriented tariffs for the population, taking into account peculiarities of electricity residents living in the mountainous areas of the country", - said in a statement of the press service of the State Agency for Regulation of Energy.
Also, the state agency informs the public and all electricity consumers that the introduction of new tariffs according to the medium-term tariff policy from June 1, is postponed to a later date.
As recalled by the agency, on 28 of May, President Almazbek Atambayev met with Prime Minister Temir Sariyev and recommended the Government to reconsider planned tariff increase for electricity from 70 to 84 tyiyn and return to the discussion on the establishment of socio- based tariff (up to 700 kWh per month), taking into account the need to pay attention to residents of mountainous areas of Kyrgyzstan.
