In Northwest China planned a construction of a high-altitude airport

Almaty. April 17. Silkroadnews - Xinjiang will build the first high-altitude airport, reported the newspaper "Zhenmin Zhibao".
"In early April, the Chinese experts in the field of civil aviation assessed the report on the choice of the location of the airport on the territory of Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County - the first high-altitude airport in Xinjiang (northwest China)", - says the publication.
The expert group has put forward proposals for the recommended three places in the report of the airport, which is located at an altitude of 3.2 thousand meters above the sea level. After the finalization of the report, Committee on Reform and Development of Xinjiang submitted it for approval to the State Administration of Civil Aviation.
Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County is located in south-western district of Kashgar, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in the east of the Pamir Plateau, the average height above the sea level is more than 4 thousand meters.
In today's world there are 42 airport at an altitude of 2438 m and higher above sea level, 15 of them are in China.
