In Tajikistan in 2014, the hunting of argali has brought half a million dollars to the state budget

Silkroadnews - «During 2014 more than 3 million Somoni ($550 thousand.) received a budget of Tajikistan due to the issuance of permits to hunt mountain sheep of Marco Polo", - said the head of the department of state control over the protection of plants and animals of the Committee of Environmental Protection RT Abdukodir Maskaev on press conference on Tuesday.
According to him, during the hunting season in 2014 were issued permissions for shooting about 70 heads of mountain sheep of Marco Polo. Total hunted became 67 goals. The cost of a hunting license is 45 thousand Somoni ($8.2 thousand).
Earlier it was reported that for argali are mainly hunting citizens of the United States, Europe, Mexico and South Africa.
According to the Committee for Environmental Protection of Tajikistan, currently the total number of mountain sheep of Marco Polo reach about 24 thousand heads.
