Almaty. January 28. Silkroadnews - More than 80 MPs have signed a petition to adopt a "tough response" from Iran, if the US decides to introduce new sanctions against the Islamic Republic, informed the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Wednesday.
"According to the text of this appeal, if Western sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran will not be removed, or if the United States goes to the introduction of a fresh round of sanctions against the Iranian people, they will face a tough response from the Parliament and the country", - said the chairman Committee of the Parliament of Iran Atomic Energy Ibrahim Karhanei.
He also warned that any "wrong moves" by the West against Iran would entail that "all the conditions contained in the Geneva Agreement, shall be deemed null and void" and push Iran to the "resumption of its nuclear activities with a bang and energy".
According to the head of the parliamentary committee, at present the number of MPs who supported this petition is steadily increasing.
On Tuesday, it was reported that a group of 16 US senators introduced a Congressional bill that would allow to impose new sanctions against Iran if the representatives of the "six" and Tehran will not be able to reach final agreement on the Iranian nuclear program by June 30 of this year.
Meanwhile, on Sunday a member of the Majlis (Parliament) of Iran Mohammad Hassan Assafari said that, in the case of the introduction of new punitive measures against Iran by the West, parliament will conduct a new law requiring the country's leadership to ensure a 60% uranium enrichment using centrifuges of new generation, which are installed in a nuclear facility, located in Tehran.
