Indian Refining Company intends to resume purchases of Iranian oil

Almaty. August 15. Silkroadnews - India's Chennai Petroleum Corp. (MRL) intends to resume purchases of crude oil from Iran with the aim of further processing at its refinery in India, transmits the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Friday.
"This year, we plan to resume purchases of Iranian oil. We have held a series of negotiations with insurance agents, and the feedback that we receive from them to date are positive", - said the Managing Director of Chennai Petroleum Corp. S. Venkataraman.
According to him, Chennai Petroleum Corp., which is owned by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), plans to import from the Islamic Republic about 300 thousand tons of oil before the end of this year.
Recall that the Chennai Petroleum Corp. was forced to suspend purchases of Iranian oil due to imposed against Tehran economic sanctions by the West. The last batch of Iranian crude oil was imported by Indian oil refining company was in the first quarter of 2012.
