Inflow of foreign direct investments into Kyrgyzstan decreased by 16% for 9 months
Almaty. December 8. Silkroadnews – During the first 9 months of this year foreign direct investments into Kyrgyzstan fell by 16% down to $535 million, KyrTAG reports.
“For the first 9 months of 2016 the inflow of investments in Kyrgyzstan decreased by 16.6% and amounted to $535 million. The highest volume of investments inflow exceeding $1.5 billion was recorded in 2015. At the end of 2016 we plan to exceed a $1-billion threshold”, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of economy Arzybek Kozhoshev said speaking at the Bishkek investment forum BIF-2016 on Thursday.
Minister has noted that in addition to external investments there are also internal investments, which tend to grow consistently.
“At present business in the Kyrgyz Republic is a source of domestic investments and major driver for the country’s economic development. Small and medium enterprises form 39% of Kyrgyzstan’s GDP. With this small business in the Kyrgyz Republic has a limited capacity for growth into the medium and large business”, A. Kozhoshev also added.
