Almaty. March 30. Silkroadnews - International tourism generates about a quarter of export revenues to Kyrgyzstan, the prime minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariyev said, KyrTAG reports.

“International tourism brings Kyrgyzstan about a quarter of the total export revenues. The gross value added within GDP makes 4.5%. For our country, having no significant oil and gas reserves, the tourism industry development shall become an important strategic direction,” T. Sariyev said at the round table on discussion of the “Tourism development program of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan till 2020”.

It is important to make Kyrgyzstan, he added, the most attractive place to visit and rest, including education and investment fields development.

“Yesterday we conducted the round table discussion on the investment and business environment improvement. The point in case was about boosting the improvement of the business environment, improving the quality of infrastructure, service areas, security and logistics. It is an integral part to promote our tourism sector,” T. Sariyev said.

The Prime Minister said the strategic document for the development of tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic till 2020 has been designed thoroughly and is of system nature.

“The project reveals all the current problems and focuses on strategic goals and directions. It is important that it shows the regional aspects of tourism development and issues of the cluster approach,” T. Sariyev summarized.
