Investors from Russia and China are the major partners of Kyrgyzstan – Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Economy

Almaty. August 1. Silkroadnews – Investors from Russia and China continue to be the major partners of Kyrgyzstan, KyrTAG writes.

“As before, the major partners of the Kyrgyz Republic are investors from China and the Russian Federation. The volume of investments made by investors from Russia amounted to $515.5 million, from China – $474.4. This is 32.8% and 30.2% of the total investments volume received respectively”, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Sazbakov said.

One shall also note Belarus and Turkey, which inflows of direct foreign investments have grown considerably, he added.

According to him, in 2015 Kuwait with $4.3 million, Morocco with $4.3 million and the Netherlands with $13.4 million also joined the new investor countries list.

The deputy minister added, the key industries attracting the investments are the mining industry, finance and insurance, and professional, scientific and technical operations.

A. Sazbakov reported, more than 40% of investments were held in Bishkek, approximately 20% in the Issyk-Kul region, mainly due to Kumtor, 17% – in Chui oblast and 13% – in the Jalal-Abad region.

“As a result of 2015, the inflow of direct investment amounted to more than $1.5 billion, which is the highest amount for the years of independence of Kyrgyzstan”, the deputy summarized.
