Iran abolish visas for the citizens of seven countries
Almaty. July 28. Silkroadnews - The Iranian authorities continue to implement a set of measures to simplify the visa regime for foreigners under the state policy on development of the tourism industry of the country, reports IrTAG on Tuesday.
Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that it was decided to abolish the visa regime for citizens of Turkey, Lebanon, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Bolivia, Egypt and Syria, and now the citizens of these countries can visit Iran without a visa. Moreover, the duration of their stay on Iranian soil can range from 15 to 90 days depending on the nationality of the visitors.
Earlier, Vice President and Head of the Culture, Tourism and Crafts of Iran Sultonifar Masood said that today Iran's income from the tourism industry amounts to $7 billion a year, which does not reflect the real potential of the country in this area.
According to him, the authorities plan within the next 10 years to increase the share of Iran in the global tourism industry from the current 0.5% to 3%.
