Iran and Azerbaijan signed 5 bilateral cooperation agreements

Almaty. November 13. Silkroadnews - Iran and Azerbaijan have signed five bilateral agreements on cooperation on the results of the summit talks in Baku, transmits the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Thursday.
In particular, the parties signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies, a memorandum of cooperation in the regulation of cross-border rivers and the coast guard in the area of alternative and renewable energy sources.
As the president of Iran Hassan Rouhani at a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, the two countries have great potential for expanding bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in many areas. In this regard, stressed Rouhani, Iran and Azerbaijan should fully tap the vast opportunities available in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
According to the Iranian leader, Tehran and Baku could also intensify bilateral cooperation in the international arena in order to resolve and settle various disputes and conflicts in the region and the world at large.
Head of Azerbaijan, in turn, pointed to the long-standing historical and cultural ties and common peoples of Iran and Azerbaijan, assured him that Baku stands for establishing whiter close contacts between the governments and peoples of the two countries in all areas without exception.
However, the Azerbaijani leader stressed that "no force in the world capable of endangering the stability of friendly ties" established recently between Iran and Azerbaijan.
