Almaty. December 2. Silkroadnews - Iran and Russia are working on the issue of establishing interstate exchange of oil for grain and manufactured goods, informed the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
"This issue has been raised. We are not talking only about the grain, but also the wider list of different products",- quoted Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Ulyukayev after talks with the Minister of Economy and Finance Ali Tayebniya.
According A.Ulyukaev, the Russian side intends to sign an agreement with Iran on the deliveries to the Islamic Republic of grain and manufactured goods in exchange for Iranian oil.
However, he stressed that Moscow and Tehran are interested to launch all bilateral settlement in national currencies of these countries. According to him, now the Central Bank of Russia and Iran have already begun to work together to develop and harmonize the necessary arrangements in this regard.
"Should be implemented mechanisms to use national currencies in bilateral relations, relations that involve lending in local currencies, the use of contracts in the national currency. Central banks of two countries should focus on that. They have already begun this work",- said Ulyukaev.
