Iran and Saudi Arabia have agreed to establish bilateral contacts to ensure stability in the Middle East
Tehran. August 27. Silkroadnews - Tehran and Riyadh are in favor of stability and speedy settlement of all conflicts in the Middle East, transmits the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
This was discussed at a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdullahiyan with the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Saud al-Faisal, which was held yesterday in the city of Jeddah.
In particular, the sides discussed regional issues, including the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the increased terrorist activity in Syria and Iraq.
The meeting stressed the readiness of Iran and Saudi Arabia to maintain and extend bilateral political contacts in order to overcome the existing differences between countries in the region.
It is worth noting that it was the first direct talks between Tehran and Riyadh at such a high level since coming to power of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in August last year.
