Iran and the African Union have agreed on scientific and technical cooperation

Almaty. January 9. Silkroadnews - Tehran held a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on scientific and technical cooperation between Iran and the African Union (AU), reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Friday.
The document was signed by the vice-president of Iran on Science and Technology Soren Sattar and AU Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology Pol Martial Ikungoy during a ceremony held in the Iranian capital on Thursday.
Iranian Vice President described the cooperation between Iran and the AU as a positive step on the road to progress and development.
"The African Union, which includes more than 50 countries, is a huge market with great potential for the export of high-tech products", - said S.Sattari, adding that in the coming years, his country intends to become one of the main partners of the AU in science and technology .
According to him, Iranian companies are to open up good opportunities for closer cooperation with its African partners in the manufacture of medical devices, nano and biotechnology, as well as in the field of manufacture of medicines.
In turn, the AU Commissioner for Human Resources, Science and Technology, welcomed the launch of scientific and technical cooperation between the Union and Iran, and expressed satisfaction with the outcome of his current visit to the Islamic republic.
