Iran and Turkey to establish a free trade regime

Almaty. July 10. Silkroadnews – Iran and Turkey plan to establish a free trade regime, Hellenic Shipping News reported.
“Iran’s minister of information and communication technologies Mahmoud Vaezi, after meeting with Turkey’s minister of economy of Turkey Nihat Zeybekci, told reporters that the plan to establish free trade between Iran and Turkey would be based on an agreement to remove preferential tariffs signed by the two countries in 2015”, the statement reads on Monday.
It is also noted to raise the mutual trade volume Tehran and Ankara should strengthen cooperation in the banking sector. According to M. Vaezi, Iran and Turkey agreed to study using their own currencies in trade transactions between the two countries, and this issue will be discussed in more detail during the visit of the head of the central bank of Turkey to Tehran.
The volume of trade between two states is expected to grow up to $30 billion per year.
