Almaty. August 24. Silkroadnews –  Iran can provide Afghanistan with 30-years oil reserves, said Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company Abbas Kazemi, AfTAG writes.

«The low level of crude oil supplies between Iran and Afghanistan is related to the fact that construction of the pipeline for oil products to Afghanistan is not effective from the economy point of view», A. Kazemi said, adding that Tehran is ready to establish a refinery in Afghanistan.

A new oil storage reservoir will soon be put into operation in South Khorasan province.

According to AfTAG, Afghanistan used to import from Iran 200 thousand tonnes diesel fuel per year. Now Kabul plans to raise Iranian shipments up to 1 million tonnes of diesel fuel per year. As Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh said, Afghans will get these volumes of Iranian fuel in case the negotiations complete successfully. To remind, at present after removal of anti-Iran sanctions, the daily export of Iranian oil by-products reached 400 thousand barrels per day.

B. Zangeneh also paid attention to Afghanistan's interest to Iranian gas supply to the amount of 200 thousand tonnes.
