Almaty. June 22. Silkroadnews - Iran has agreed for the supply of Russian air defense systems "Antey-2500", reports Deutsche Welle.
"Iran's leaders agreed on the supply of Russian air defense systems "Antey-2500" instead of S-300, which are already out of production at the defense Concern "Almaz-Antey", - says the publication.
As noted, if a new contract is concluded, then Iran will become the third largest owner of the complex "Antey-2500" after Venezuela and Egypt.
As previously stated Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran Murtaza Sarmadi, Tehran and Moscow are negotiating on the withdrawal of Iran's claim from the arbitration court in Geneva because of the refusal of Russia to supply Iran with S-300. Once the trial will be stopped, the sides will sign a new contract to supply advanced air defense systems "Antey-2500".
