Iran has offered Japan to collaborate on the production of vaccines
Almaty. February 27. Silkroadnews - Iran and Japan have agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of health care, medical education and research, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
In particular, the signed document provides the establishment of closer cooperation between the relevant authorities of the two countries in the field of health care, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, as well as the development of mutually beneficial new joint high-tech projects in the medical field. According to the document, the medical schools of Iran and Japan will take the necessary steps to enhance the exchange of experience, faculty members, organizing and conducting various specialized trainings, educational seminars and training courses, as well as specialized exhibitions.
During the visit, Hashemi met with the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan Yasuhisa Shiozaki. The parties discussed further development of bilateral relations.
The Iranian minister also visited the Medical Research Center (MRC) of Tokyo, where he suggested the Japanese side to cooperate in the production of vaccines, ensuring the efficiency, safety and quality.
In addition, during a visit to the headquarters of the Organization to promote the development of foreign trade of Japan (JETRO), the head of the healthcare department of Iran announced plans of the Iranian government for the purchase of modern medical equipment worth $800 million for equipping 570 hospitals and clinics in the Islamic republic. He stressed that the Japanese companies and enterprises could make a major contribution to the realization of this large-scale project, the Japanese side expressed its interest.
