Almaty. September 29. Silkroadnews - «Iran has reiterated in the United Nations of their rights to the islands of Greater and Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa in the Persian Gulf", - says the publication of the Iranian media.
As noted, such a statement was a reaction to the speech of Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, who has called into question their identity, as well as to protest against the rise of Iranian national flags on the three islands.
The representative of the Islamic Republic to the UN said that such statements by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE Emirates constitutes interference in the internal affairs of Iran, "because the islands are an integral part of Iran".
As noted in the information, the Iranian sovereignty over the islands is confirmed by numerous documents, according to which Greater and Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa belongs to Iran, and only in 1903 came under British control. However, in 1971 they were returned to Tehran, even before appearing on the world map of a state like the United Arab Emirates.
