Iran, in terms of generated electricity, is the leader in the Middle East

Tehran. June 19. Silkroadnews - Iran is the leader in terms of electricity generated in the Middle East and now ranks 14th in the world, according to the KazTAG.
"Over the past 10 years, Iran's potential for electricity generation increased by 7% year on year," - said the managing director of Tehran Regional Electricity Company Zaman Syed Hussein at the fifth international conference on electric power, adding that the figure for all countries amounted only to 3.5%.
According to S.Hussein in the past Iranian calendar year (from 21 March 2013 to 20 March 2014), the country produced 71 thousand MWh of electricity, but by 2021 the country's demand for electricity will increase to 100 thousand MWh. He also noted that the pace of construction and commissioning of new generating facilities in Iran over the past 10 years, exceeded total world figures 2 times.
Iran annually exports to 26 countries in the world 5% of the total electricity generated in the country.
