Iran increases export of chicken meat

Almaty. November 17. Silkroadnews - This year, exports of chicken meat from the northern Iranian province of Golestan increased more than twice, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
The head of the Chamber of Commerce (CCI) of Golestan province Husseynkuli Kavanlu noted that since the beginning of this year, local poultry farm exported abroad chicken meat in the amount of $13.8 million. The amount of exports of this product for the same period last year amounted to only $6.5 million.
However, the chairman of CCI noted that due to the increase in production of chicken meat in the whole country, in recent weeks there has been some fall in prices of poultry products.
According to H.Kavanlu, the main markets for poultry meat and eggs are Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, due to the sharp intensification of trade and economic ties between Tehran and Moscow, we can add Russia too, he said.
The head of the CCI of Gulistan said that currently being negotiated with the Russian side supplies to Russia from 50 thousand to 100 thousand tons of chicken meat a year.
Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Islamic Republic of Iran, for the first half of this year (from March 21 to September 22, 2014), the country produced 75 thousand tons of chicken meat. According to the forecasts of local experts, by the end of the year production of this product should reach 170 thousand tons.
