Almaty. March 2. Silkroadnews - Iran intends to expand the all-round cooperation with Belarus, especially in trade and economic affairs, the ambassador of Iran to Belarus Mohammad Reza Sabouri said, BelTA reports.
The head of the diplomatic mission noted the political relations between the countries have always been strong. He is confident in the future these contacts will be strengthened further. A good prerequisite for this is a regular exchange of delegations and negotiations between the countries.
In particular, in February Belarus and Iran’s foreign ministers met in Munich during the 52nd Conference on Security and discussed the state and prospects of development of bilateral political, trade and economic relations. Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov visited Tehran in early February. As a result of the consultations the sides signed a program on interaction between the Belarusian and Iranian ministries of foreign affairs for 2016-2018.
“When we talk about excellent political relations, we assume the same level of contacts for other sectors as well,” - the ambassador noted.
He underlined that Iran prioritizes trade and economic cooperation and the necessary legal base is available for it.
“The Belarusian-Iranian trade and economic relations developed even during the sanctions times and I can say the volume of the Iranian investments in Belarus has even increased,” - said the diplomat.
“Now the intentions have been voiced to expand the all-round interaction with Belarus further,” – said Mohammad Reza Sabouri.
