Almaty. June 23. Silkroadnews - Iran, Iraq and Syria in the near future will hold a trilateral meeting on security and counter-terrorism, reports IrTAG on Tuesday.
"The meeting will be held in Baghdad and it will be attended by representatives of the three countries that are part of a united front of resistance against the Zionist regime of Israel, and lead a constant struggle against terrorism, violence and extremism", - said the Interior Minister of Iran Abdulreza Rahmani-Fazli, following the talks with his Syrian counterpart Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar in Tehran.
The head of the Iranian Interior Ministry expressed hope that the trilateral meeting in Baghdad will be a kind of prelude to the holding of a broader forum on terrorism under the auspices of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
He also stressed that Iran and Syria emphasize the fight against terrorism, in particular the joint efforts of both countries to counter extremist group ISIL.
