Almaty. April 7. Silkroadnews - "Iran maintains the intention to increase the supply of agricultural products to Russia and plans to open a transit corridor across the Caspian Sea. Iran plans to supply fish, shrimp, chicken, vegetables, fruits, including apples, to all Russian trade networks", - said in an interview with Russia's trade representative in Iran Andrey Luganskiy.
As reported in February this year, Tehran and Moscow initialed veterinary certificates for the supply from Iran to Russia eggs, meat, raw meat and by-products derived from the slaughter of cattle, sheep, goats and poultry. In early March, Iranian companies have already started to supply Russian market with fish and marine products. The potential of such supplies is estimated at about 100 thousand tons per year.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov expressed the interest of Russian companies in establishing a more serious presence in Iran in case of cancellation of international sanctions against the Islamic Republic. In particular, we are talking about the areas of the Iranian economy, as the automotive industry, the construction of aircraft and ships.
On the background of the Western economic sanctions against the Russian Federation, Iran expressed its willingness to replace a number of products that were previously delivered to the Russian market from the European Union, but came under Russian response restrictive measures.
